The easiest mascarpone icing
Mascarpone is a delicious, delicate, spreadable Italian cheese that’s a bit like cream cheese. You might recognize it as one of the superstar ingredients in a heavenly tiramisu.
That’s not the only way to use it: you can make a beautiful pasta with mushrooms and mascarpone. You could make a fruit tart, spread it on toast with jam, or MAKE THE EASIEST MASCARPONE ICING!
Icing... frosting... whatever you want to call it, it’s so useful to be able to whip up something creamy to top off your baked goods.
Here’s the no-recipe-needed recipe for the easiest mascarpone icing:
In a small glass bowl, scoop in your desired amount of mascarpone. Add a few drops of vanilla extract and a splash of milk. Using a fork to mash, work the liquid into the mascarpone cheese until it becomes smooth and incorporated. Now, add a spoonful of powdered sugar and stir in with your fork until consistent. Taste, and add more sugar if you like it sweeter. I like this mascarpone icing to have just a hint of sweetness!
This method of making the easiest mascarpone icing uses very, very few tools and very little effort. If you want to break out a beautiful mixer to whip this up or you love whisking - go for it! It’s your kitchen :)
